Continuing today with our third iteration of the “Invest Pittsburgh: 10 Counties, 1 Region” series, which is highlighting significant business investments secured during 2014 by partners working in collaboration with the PRA and independently, meet advanced manufacturing firm, Chalmers & Kubeck, Inc. (C&K) of Beaver County.

Beaver Falls-based C&K launched a safety-release valve repair and testing certification shop in the former Armstrong World Industries specialty ceiling tile facility with a $3.5 million capital investment. The investment includes plans for hiring more than 50 people within a three-year period. The company re-equipped and renovated the 55,000-square-foot facility with an administrative wing and a machine shop outfitted to repair a range of equipment, from safety relief valves to machines in steel mills and boilers at community colleges. The Beaver facility is part of C&K’s expansive maintenance center network spanning the East Coast.

Check back each Thursday as we spotlight an array of companies that have made the Pittsburgh region their choice for business investment.
