Those who travel for business or leisure from Pittsburgh to Europe will have – beginning on June 23 – another nonstop air service option.  Condor Airlines will be a new carrier linking Pittsburgh International to Frankfurt (Germany) Airport,  with connections from there to other major European cities including Amsterdam, Brussels, Madrid and Milan.  Flights are Monday – Friday, June through September.

In advance of the inaugural flight, Pittsburgh International Airport, Condor and several Pittsburgh restaurants and museums are partnering on a social media promotion, “Passport to Adventure” with a prize of two, complimentary roundtrip tickets, valued at up to $900.

A winner will be identified via social media by May 31, 2017. Travel must be booked by Dec. 31, 2017, and flights must be taken during the 2018 season.

The Pittsburgh region and Germany have long enjoyed robust ties, particularly in business.  Germany is one of the largest foreign investors in the region, with 77 German-owned companies operating 180 establishment and employing 10K+ southwestern Pennsylvanians.  These include Bayer, Bosch, Covestro, Siemens and VEKA, among others.  Pittsburgh is also home to a chapter of the German American Chamber of Commerce to helps to advance Germany-Pittsburgh relations.
