Pittsburgh’s economy is a lot like an onion, and its not because it stinks!

Peeling back its layers and revealing economic insights beneath the surface is Pittsburgh Regional Alliance’s (PRA) Market Research Guru Jim Futrell in this week’s Pittsburgh Business Times column.  Futrell shares the importance of data in economic decision making and its use in the PRA’s annual Business Investment Scorecard event, which provides a snapshot of all announced business investment activity in the region and helps to guide strategy development for moving southwestern Pennsylvania’s economy forward. Take a deeper dive in the region’s manufacturing opportunity – which, for the fifth year in a row and eight out of the last 10 years, outpaced four other key sectors – as well as the emerging opportunity around information technology and robotics.
